Hutchinson Family Visit & Baby Dedication Weekend

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but we had another very busy and fun weekend. Grandma Hutch, Uncle Scott and Aunt Tracy came to visit from Fairport, NY & Boston. We went to the Botanical Gardens on Friday and Grandma joined us for our baby spa class at Play 2 Grow on Saturday morning. After a big breakfast at the OK Cafe, we headed to the Dekalb Farmers Market. We got lots of fresh fruits and veggies - which we've made into baby food for Riley & Ryan. They absolutely LOVED the farmers market. Riley's arms and legs were moving the entire time. Lots of new things to see! They even saw live "fishies" for the first time...little did they know they would be someone's dinner later that night. Guess we'll have to explain that one at some point... On Sunday we had Baby Dedication at church. It was a nice service followed by a great dinner with the Hutchinsons and Hopkins. Riley & Ryan were surrounded by lots and lots of love all weekend long. With that said - they melted down on Monday. Kevin and his mom stayed home on Monday, which happened to be Kevin's birthday, and Riley & Ryan could not be pleased. They fussed all day long and gave them a taste of what fussy babies are really like. Thankfully we haven't experienced many instances of that. Needless to say, we all slept very well last night!

Fun-filled Spring Weekend

We have had another jam-packed weekend full of lots of fun! We started with a visit from Aunt Heather from California. She came in to surprise Grandma for her birthday! We took off work and school on Friday and played with Aunt Heather. On Saturday we started with "The Great Race" at school. Our teacher made us team shirts and we enjoyed watching all of the older kids race away! Our friends, Katharyn, Paul, Conner & Bennett were there racing with their friends. Then we headed to Grandma & Grandaddy's house for Grandma's birthday party and piano recital. She's been taking piano lessons and put on a great concert. We then went out for a birthday dinner for Grandma and Daddy. It was a very long day, but we "partied" the whole time. Ryan even stayed up after we got home and partied some more with Aunt Heather. We're off to get our 6 month photos taken today, so hopefully we'll still have some smiles left!
Earlier this week we went for our 6 month checkup and had another great visit. Riley is in the 10th percentile in weight (14.3 lbs) and 50th for height and Ryan is in the 75th percentile in both height & weight (18.6lbs). Summary - we have a munchkin and a chunky monkey!
We've added a few albums:

First Beach Vacation

We were able to join my parents for Riley & Ryan's first trip to the beach (New Smyrna Beach, FL) last week. We had a great time and they were great as well. They loved the (heated) pool and were ok with the beach, but the ocean water was way too cold for them. We made it through the 9 hour drive and thankfully Riley & Ryan slept almost the whole way there and back! They really were troopers. We thought we were going to be off to a bad start when I got a call from their school about an hour before I was supposed to pick them up because Riley had a fever and was cranky. So we diverted from Plan "A" and went to Plan "B" which included a trip to the pediatrician and pharmacy before we headed out of town. Riley had her first ear infection, but you would have never known it. She was a little less animated at the beginning of the trip, but after a few days of antibiotics she was back to her crazy self. As always, flexibility is the key! We truly enjoyed spending the week with them, but have a renewed sense of appreciation for stay at home moms! :) Pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/hutchinson.heidi/20080329NewSmyrnaBeach
