We had so much fun this weekend playing with bubbles! I have been thinking about bubbles a lot since last summer since I tried to buy all kinds of fun stuff for their birthday and quickly learned that no one sells bubbles in October. So... I stocked up and we have had so much fun playing with all the bubble stuff I got. Ryan especially loves them and cries real tears when we stop. To give you an idea of just how many bubbles we witnessed in 2 days...I used up an entire bottle of bubbles in 2 play times ! Bubbles bubbles and more bubbles!
I also bought a water table at the end of the Summer last year and brought it out this week and we have already gotten our money's worth on that one. They love splashing around and have learned that when you press the button on the light house it makes lots of fun beach sounds, but more importantly it makes the octopus spray water! They just giggle and laugh each and every time it sprays. They each had tons of fun putting their face and head in it and I think they enjoyed watching each other as much as doing it themselves.
We had the Great Race at school on Saturday morning and Riley amazed us once again. As soon as we got there she took off on her car and never looked back. She was fast and accurate. I had several strangers ask me how old she was and where she got all that energy. I think she amazed us all. Ryan forgot how to use his legs and much prefered us to push him rather than peddling along himself. That killed our backs, so he was finally happy to sit on the blanket and eat grapes. Definitely opposite ends of the spectrum!
After the race and nap, we headed to Gramma's house for lots more fun. We played in the water there with the fishing poles Gramma bought them. They weren't quite ready for those, but they did love the frozen bananas she had for them! She even let them dip them in chocolate! They were big helpers and helped Grandaddy pick up some weeds in the yard and put them in the bucket. After some more bubble time, dinner and bath, it was time to head back home and head straight to bed after a very busy and delightful day!
A few funny moments to remember from this week:
We got a note from Riley's teacher on Friday that "Ms. Riley was the teacher today during circle time". So - I had to ask about this...does everyone take a turn? and they quickly laughed and said oh no - Riley just stood up and started leading the songs. It cracked them up as well as us! Riley was at the doctor on Thursday and had the beginning stages of an ear infection and something in her chest so we started some antibiotics that night. I think she felt so much better by Friday morning and she needed to "lead"!
When we were at Gramma's we were trying on some shoes she had gotten for Ryan and he liked the first pair. He looked at them and walked all around. When we tried on the second pair, he was hesitant and seemed a little upset. I asked him if he liked the shoes and he said "no"! Then I asked him if he liked the other ones better he gave a very quick "yes"! I'm not sure if he really understood all he was saying, but he let us know that pair #1 got his vote (and mine too)!
Riley has learned how to pronounce Ryan's name and says it quite frequently. She's always calling out to him and says his name about 10 times an hour. It's so cute to see how much she loves her brother!
They will be moving up to their new class on May 18th! Early Preschool 1 (EPS1)
