Christmas at Mee Maw’s

We went to Mee Maw’s house to celebrate Christmas and we had a full day of wonderful memories!  It started with hot chocolate at home…2010-12-18 (2)2010-12-18 (3)

Then we headed to Lawrenceville where we started the day making pineapple & banana candles for our appetizer for lunch.

even Mee Maw had a few gifts to open – which the kiddos graciously helped her unwrap

We went to see some lights near Mee Maw’s house that were incredible!  After a long day of fun, Riley fell asleep as soon as we got there and never saw a light.  Ryan kept asking to watch a movie the whole time.  Funny enough, when I asked him the next day what his favorite part of the day with Mee Maw was, I got a very animated response about the lights we saw with Mee Maw.  Kids are funny!

Thank you Mee Maw for a wonderful day!
We had a Merry Christmas day with you!

Christmas Catch-Up

We have had a fantastic Christmas season!  There were lots of fun and festive things planned that kept us quite busy…thus the lack of posts.  We all battled being sick throughout the last month, so when we did have down time we tried our best to rest and get well.  Ryan had strep and gave it to me and Gran-Daddy, but we were all basically “well” by the time Christmas Eve arrived.

Let’s back up a few weeks to the beginning of December…

We ventured downtown for the Children’s Healthcare Christmas Parade.  We rode Marta and got a perfect spot to watch the parade.  There were huge floats and Santa was at the end of the parade.  The parade was the morning of the SEC Championship (which Auburn won!!!), so there was quite a crowd downtown.  It was a really cold day, but thankfully we weren’t frozen until the end of the parade.

Every year, there is a free event at The Fox Theater called Larry, Carols & Mo.  We went last year and had such a great time we went again this year.  It will definitely be an annual event for the Hutchinson crew!  The sing-a-long is great and then they showed the movie “Elf”.  I think Gran-daddy might have enjoyed the movie the most.  He just laughed and laughed.  It was a frigid night, so the walk to the car was not a fun way to end an enjoyable evening.  I think the wind-chill was in the single digits (no exaggeration).

I changed the kiddos at school, so we snapped a few shots with their teachers – Ms. Marcy & Ms. Lovey – before heading out

Riley and Ryan participated in the Christmas program at their school.  This was the first year that they actually stood at the front of the church – no tears – and all smiles!  They were so proud and so were we.  They sang a song and read a poem with their class.  Too cute!

The day after their program was their class party.  They had a plate full of snacks and then did a book exchange with their friends.  Fun times!
