Cinderella & Easter Eggs

On Saturday we went to see Cinderella at the Aurora Theater in Lawrenceville. We thought it was going to be the play, but it turned out to be a storyteller and acted out different parts of the story. Even thought it was not what we expected, it was outstanding and the kiddos had a blast! Avery, Joy and Nani were able to join us for a girls (plus 1 boy) outing and lunch!

On Sunday we went to church and then to La Parilla for our Mexican food lunch. After naps we headed over to Avery’s neighborhood for a fabulous Easter egg hunt! The Easter Bunny even showed up! We got the hunt in just in the nick of time and as we were loading the car the downpour started. Then we went back to the Cole’s house and dyed Easter eggs and did an art project. We played and ate dinner with Avery, Wells, Margaret & Mary Clayton! What a perfect day!

Heaven

Mike passed away this morning at 9:45. I wanted to share this last post by his wife to the CaringBridge site.

Mike Sweeney loved his life. But He loved His Savior more. Now they are together. And we will continue to celebrate Mike’s life. He was the kindest man I know.

Prayer

I have asked for your prayers before, so I will ask again. My childhood friend, Mike Sweeney, has been battling cancer for the last 18 months. This weekend his health took a downturn. This has been an amazing journey and if you ever have the time, I encourage you to read the history on this link. Mike's wife, Cabell, has been on an incredible journey of faith during this season and God has done a tremendous work in many lives through them.

one more thing…

When we were at the park yesterday the kiddos had such a great time running around and playing in the big open space. At one point Ryan basically tackled Riley and we looked over to see if she needed “help”. Ryan looked at us with the proudest smile and announced “I got her”! And yes he did – he “got” and tackled her! He was so excited and we all just burst out laughing. Luckily Riley was fine! Here’s the masculine one himself!

We tried putting on big girl panties and big boy underwear this morning, but after going through 6 pair a piece in a 2 hour period, we decided they are not quite ready for this endeavor. We will try again, but I’m ok with continuing diapers for now!

Consignment Sale!!

You might have noticed that I haven’t been as prompt on my blogging lately and it’s been because just about every free minute of my time I’ve been working on tagging and organizing all of our baby gear to sell in a consignment sale. I priced over 1,000 items of baby gear and clothes! It was a lot of work, but well worth it! The sale was yesterday and we just learned what we made and we are pleased! Yay!!! Below are some photos from the big event.

Riley and Ryan stayed with Mee Maw and Gran-daddy on Friday night so we could work the sale. When we did the trade-off yesterday they had not had a nap, so we headed straight to the park as soon as we got home. Spring is here and we had a fantastic time playing!

Kevin bought us some nice steaks and we grilled out after the kiddos went to bed. While we were grilling, this was our view from our deck! What a great ending to an exhausting day!

I did a little shopping at the sale and bought Riley this tu tu – she loved playing around in it this morning!

Easter Eggs!

Last weekend we decorated Easter eggs for the first time! I have to admit I was a bit anxious about permanent dye, but the kiddos did a great job! The colors were perfect and they were great listeners. Mee Maw and Gran-daddy were there to help us with the fun!

Cars Birthday Party

Last weekend Riley and Ryan were invited to a “Cars” 3rd birthday party, so we loaded up the trikes and headed to Alpharetta. There were races, hotdogs that looked like race cars, a viewing of the movie “Cars” and best of all cake & ice cream! I think Riley had 3 servings of ice cream!
