Buzz Lightyear and Mommy
In the car on the way to school I asked them if they remembered where mommy was going. This is how the conversation went.
H: Do you remember where mommy is going?
Riley: On the airplane!
H: yes, but do you remember where the airplane is taking me?
Riley: (without hesitation) …TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!
I just busted out laughing and can’t help cracking up every time I think about it. Priceless memories!
**To those that aren’t aware, Buzz Lightyear’s saying (from Toy Story) is “To Infinity and Beyond”!

Summer Fun
This week was spirit week at school and every day there was a different theme to dress for. It was fun for the kids, but required a lot of forethought for me…and they didn’t give us a lot of advance notice. Monday was “character day” and they were supposed to dress as their favorite character, but without a lot of time to prepare, we used what we had…not great, but it will work. I’m not sure Ryan knows who Batman is, but he was excited! We told Riley she was Cinderella, so that worked out great!
Ryan loves wearing the dress up clothes and I just can’t resist taking pictures when he gets all dolled up!
For some reason I decided to make cookies with the kiddos on Tuesday night after school. The kiddos loved helping me measure and stir! I was rethinking it just before we started, but they were such great helpers that I knew we made the right call. They were excited to share the cookies with their teachers, Mee Maw and Gran-daddy!
We went to our pool on Thursday after work and Mee Maw joined us. We had pizza delivered there and enjoyed relaxing and cooling off after a long day. They were very excited to show Mee Maw how they swim. They even got lollipops from a swim instructor that was there giving someone else a lesson.
Friday night Gran-Daddy came over to take the kiddos our for pizza at Fellini’s and we got to sneak out for dinner with some friends! It was nice to get out on the town for a “grown-up” night. Saturday was a lazy day for everyone but Kevin. He worked on digging a ditch in the yard and running some piping for drainage. We decided after that we all deserved a night out. We went to a friends restaurant and were there from 6-9 pm! The kids had a lot of fun playing on the outside patio and there was even live music for everyone to enjoy.
Today we went up to Mee Maw’s house for photos at Wal-Mart. They kids were not cooperating so great at first, but they eventually came through (after bribing them greatly) and the pictures turned out great! Thanks Mee Maw! We let each of them pick out a toy after the photo session. Riley picked out her first Barbie and Ryan chose a Thomas the Train with track. They both made great choices and had a great time this afternoon playing with their new toys. They are both sleeping with them tonight! After Wal-Mart, we went to Dairy Queen for lunch and blizzards then nap time and pool time in Mee Maw’s backyard. They helped Mee Maw pick a few cucumbers and we even “took a bath” in the pool - - so no bath tonight when we got home! All in all a very fun week and weekend!
