I am traveling to New York this week for work, so I talked with Riley and Ryan this morning and explained to them that mommy was going out of town on the airplane and asked them to be good listeners and helpers to daddy while I was gone. They both agreed, but Riley wanted to go with me. When I assured her that one day she would be able to go on the airplane with me, but just not this time, she was ok.
In the car on the way to school I asked them if they remembered where mommy was going. This is how the conversation went.
H: Do you remember where mommy is going?
Riley: On the airplane!
H: yes, but do you remember where the airplane is taking me?
Riley: (without hesitation) …TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!
I just busted out laughing and can’t help cracking up every time I think about it. Priceless memories!
