We started Father's Day weekend with a evening trip to the neighborhood pool. Our friends Joy, Clayton and Avery joined us and we stayed up way past our bedtime... but we had such a blast! We also discovered that Riley now has 2 bottom teeth too! She never fussed at all, so we had no idea she was even close to teeth. Much different experience than with Ryan erlier in the week. We went to Joy, John, Candler & Palmer's house in Woodstock on Saturday and had a great time in the pool again! We ate some lunch and played on the swing set in their backyard. We LOVE the swing! It was so much fun for mom and dad to play with old friends and Riley and Ryan to play with new friends! When we got home Lori, Katharyn and little Paul came over and we played for several hours. We watched Corduroy (compliments of Aunt Heather) and then Fox & the Hound. Another great day!
We've started playing in our pack-n-play in the family room and we LOVE being surrounded by all of our toys. We are already having to learn the concept of sharing. Riley likes to sneak in under the radar and "gather" all the toys. They somehow all end up behind her. She doesn't necessarily want to play with them....just wants to make sure no one else gets to either! Should be fun days ahead "teaching" 8 month olds how to share! :)
Today for Father's Day, we went to church and then met Grandma and Grandaddy for lunch. After a much needed nap and a snack from Grandma, we ventured to the new baby pool in the backyard. Ryan decided he wanted to dive in face first for his toys and he and Riley both went under several times. It made Grandma so nervous she had to go inside - she couldn't watch! We all agreed that the big pool is much easier since we can get in with them and they can stay in their floats and move around. Live and learn...
